We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled caregiver to join a small, supportive team for a gentleman on Madison’s east side. This is a unique role that blends hands-on medical care with real companionship—just two mornings per week.
What makes this role different?
It’s built around connection. Yes, you’ll handle specific clinical tasks (listed below), but the soul of the shift is sharing conversation, watching favorite shows, and sometimes heading out for a short walk around the neighborhood or a quick errand together.
Details:
· Pay: $21.00/hour
· Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM (6 hours/week total)
· Employment: Direct hire through the individual’s long-term care program. We follow all Wisconsin wage and labor laws and are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
· Training: Full, paid training on all medical equipment and protocols—no prior specialized experience required, just a willingness to learn.
What you’ll do each shift:
· G-tube feeding – gravity feeds per care plan, monitoring comfort
· Seizure awareness – observing for activity and keeping the environment safe
· Mobility assistance – using a gait belt for safe transfers and movement
· Personal care – light help as needed
· Companionship & short outings – real conversation at home, plus occasional trips to a park or coffee shop (weather permitting)
You’re a great fit if you:
· Are open to learning G-tube feeding and seizure monitoring
· Communicate clearly and patiently, and value relationship-centered care
· Can physically assist with transfers using a gait belt
· Feel comfortable supporting safe mobility in the community (walks, getting in/out of a vehicle)
If you want a calm, one-on-one role where your time and skills are truly valued, we’d love to hear from you.
