We are seeking a compassionate ASL expert to work one-on-one with a deaf individual with developmental disabilities. Important Employment Details
Please note: You will not be employed by Support Broker Services, LLC. Instead, you will be directly hired by the individual receiving care. This position is managed through the participant’s long-term care program (Wisconsin’s IRIS program), which establishes the guidelines for care and compensation. Support Broker Services, LLC is assisting this individual in identifying a qualified ASL expert to join their team.

What You’ll Do

· Facilitate Clear Communication: Provide seamless, accurate two-way ASL interpretation during medical appointments, daily activities, and interactions with caregivers.
· Empower Independence: Help the individual articulate their needs, preferences, and choices with confidence.
· Simplify Complex Information: Translate intricate medical terminology and everyday conversations to ensure full understanding.
· Champion Inclusion: Ensure the client’s thoughts and perspectives are valued and respected in every interaction.
· Collaborate for Success: Work closely with the client’s support team to identify and implement effective, person-centered communication strategies.

Who We’re Looking For

· Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
· Experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, particularly those with developmental disabilities.
· Ability to pass all Wisconsin DHS-required caregiver background checks, including registry reviews and mandatory reporting clearance.
· A patient, empathetic nature with exceptional listening skills.
· A collaborative mindset eager to work toward person-centered goals.
